Julphar’s Asthma & Allergy Awareness Day hosted in Dubai

On October 28th, 2016 Julphar hosted a workshop at the Oberoi Hotel in Dubai to address 120 invited doctors from UAE on the guidelines of asthma and allergy and the value of using its newly-launched products: Xaira and Rinelon.

 

The Conference was chaired and moderated by Dr Zuhair Harb, Director of the pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine at the Cure Advanced Diagnostic Center of Abu Dhabi. The speaker discussed the prevalence and burden of asthma and allergic rhinitis in UAE. He gave updates on the comorbidity of the infections and provided healthcare professionals (HCPs) with a strategic road map to control the diseases.

 

Xaira is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks substances called leukotrienes. Leukotrienes cause narrowing and swelling of airways in the lungs. By blocking leukotrienes, Xaira improves asthma symptoms and helps control asthma.

 

Rinelon Aqueous Nasal Spray Mometasone furoate is a topical glucocorticosteroid with local anti-inflammatory properties. Rinelon Aqueous Nasal Spray is indicated to treat the symptoms of seasonal or perennial rhinitis. Rinelon Aqueous Nasal Spray is also indicated as adjunctive treatment to antibiotics for acute episodes of sinusitis. Rinelon Nasal Spray is also indicated for the treatment of nasal polyps and associated symptoms including congestion and loss of smell.

 

Xaira and Rinelon are Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD) second brands launched by Julphar in March 2016, as part of the manufacturing partnership agreement both companies signed in April 2014, which grants Julphar exclusive rights to commercialize and distribute five MSD second brands in the areas of diabetes, asthma, allergy, pain and inflammation across the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Iraq.
